Assessments and Standardized Testing
In February of 2014, the State mandated that all New Jersey schools implement the Core Curriculum Content Standards and assess student proficiency with these standards using an online test created by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). All other assessments WCMS currently administers in the areas of math and language arts are aligned with the Core Curriculum Content Standards.
In addition, New Jersey requires students to take an assessment on Science knowledge in grades four and eight. All other assessments are designed to identify student needs or evaluate the effectiveness of curricular offerings. The table below provides information on all standardized assessments, grade levels tests are administered, subject areas covered, as well as testing window dates.
